Gifts for Mom on Mother’s Day

It got a little creative around here and these are the Gifts for Mom we ended up with!

First of all, I had this

Making a moss lining for a hanging basket
A hanging basket my neighbor put at the curb, moss from our yard, my ancient spades, and an idea which I felt confident in implementing after watching Martha do it like this.

and I had these things to fill it with

A couple of plants from Home Depot, Monkey Grass and Hostas from our yard.

and turned it into this

Homemade Hanging Basket with Moss Liner
The final result – I also added some vinca vine (trailing in front). Hope it fills in nicely over the summer!

I got excited about how it turned out and did this basket next:

Another pot my neighbor put at the curb. A plot of mossy earth beneath a backyard tree dug up to line the basket. And the final result!
Another pot my neighbor put at the curb. A plot of mossy earth beneath a backyard tree dug up to line the basket (this part gets real messy). And the final result, a potted plant for my mom’s front porch! I told her, “I just went out in my yard and Martha’d something up for you out of nowhere!”

Then I made the card, 8×10 photo with a magnet, decorative envelope, and corsage!

A corsage made from the irises I talked about here. A handprint card that says, "I have a green thumb like you, Grandma!" (This was the biggest hit of everything pictured.) A free 8x10 photo from Walgreens with a magnet from our local pizza delivery menu flyer. A crazy envelope to tie it all together (hopefully)!

And those were our Mother’s Day gifts for our wonderful moms!
